ABOUT

THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Erik Saulitis is a Minneapolis-based photographer who specializes in capturing the beauty of dance and motion. During his 30+ year career, he has worked extensively with the James Sewell Ballet and many other dance companies throughout the Twin Cities. Erik has always been fascinated by the powerful emotion that can be captured through dance photography; his goal with Danceprints is to capture this passion and empower others to enjoy, ponder, and explore the exquisite movements.

THE WORK

All photographs are captured in a studio setting where Erik can control the lighting and compositions to create the particular mood desired for each image. All of his images are shot as you see them; no composite work or photoshop "magic." It's an artistic choice he believes further brings the passion and beauty of the dancers to life; what you see in each image is what actually happened in-studio. Erik also handles printing, matting, resin pouring, and framing for every photograph available from his studio.

Prints come framed with a hand-poured resin coating; this finish is easily cleaned with Windex and a microfiber cloth. Custom sizes and framing are available upon request.
